Nail Surgery

Healthier feet from highly experienced Podiatrists.

Nail Surgery

Nail surgery is also known as wedge resection, total nail avulsion or partial nail avulsion. If an ingrowing toe nail (Onychocryptosis) can’t be manage conservatively it may be necessary to resolve the condition with this minor surgical procedure.

Many patients attending for this procedure have wound themselves up by searching the web and looked at the most gory pictures and horrific accounts they can find.

The reality is that once the local anaesthetic has taken, the whole experience is usually pretty boring for the patient. We usually carried this procedure on Saturday mornings and it takes between 30 and 45 minutes.

The post op dressing can be bulky so roomy footwear is advised for the appointment.
